Sreyleak Chea comes from Kandal province. She has 2 brothers. She is the youngest one. She grew up in an Orphanage. She lived there for more than 10 years since her mom is a widow and her mom couldn’t afford to feed the whole family by herself.
She graduated from high school in 2016 and moved to Phnom Penh in purpose to pursue university. And because of the partnership between the orphanage and New Life Foundation, she has the opportunity to stay in New Life Student Dormitory. At that time, she was the youngest one among other 19 students. she was a Christian back then but had never experienced a relationship with Him.
Sreyleak said” I have been staying in the dorm for almost 5 years now. I have seen many areas in my life have completely changed. The dorm has helped me with the journey and relationship I have with God by joining the church services and serving in the church ministry. The devotion time with other sisters in the dorm brings me even closer to God. Not only that it has helped me to walk my life with Jesus, but it has also given me the opportunity to love and care for other people who live with me as well. Moreover, the dorm has provided leadership training and life skill. Through the training I have received, I have become a mature Christian and a leader. In 2021, I graduated bachelor’s degree in psychology. Nowadays, I still stay in the dorm because I want to pass on what I have received to the younger generation. My heart is always grateful for this opportunity. I also thank you student Dormitory for giving me a safe place to grow.
Ou Moungphanit comes from Svay Rieng province. His family has a decent living and his parents are teachers. 4years ago, he went to high school in Svay Reing and Now he study at Norton University, majoring in architecture in year 4. In the past, when he was in a dormitory, he also knew some Jesus, but not as clearly as he does now. He knows about the student dormitory through his sister, because she used to stay there.
Moungphanit said” I have been staying in the dorm for 3 years almost 4 years. Student Dormitory has helped me with leadership, responsibility, honesty, respect, and self-improvement. I have with God by joining the church services and serving in the ministry at Toul Sangke. Nowadays, I work as a volunteer for the worship coordinating Teams at Toul Sangke. I would like to thank New Life Foundation Cambodia for creating a student dormitory that has helped fund a large part of my budget and has taught me a lot about relationships, honesty, responsibility, and leadership, and make me know Jesus better.
Keng Siemreap, she 21 years old. She was born in Phnom Srok district, Banteay Meanchey province. She has two siblings and she eldest in the family she currently lives in the Women’s Dorm (TSK) in Phnom Penh and is a third-year student majoring in Finance and Banking at Phnom Penh International University. In the beginning, she was not a believer in God, she believed in following Jesus after coming to Dorm. At first, I knew about the dormitory through a friend of my uncle, who suggested it. That I stay in the dormitory to continue my studies.
Siemreap said” I have been staying in a dorm for 3 years. The dormitory is not a rented house or a building made for students to live in, but I consider Dormitory to be a house that lives in warmth, prosperity, acceptance of new things, change, and jumping. Not only in the external body but also in spiritual growth. Living in a dormitory really made me prosper a lot. without this cozy dorm, my life in this world would not have known any hardships. I currently serve two ministries in the New Life Church, Tuol Sangke. I have volunteered for the SC ministry and information desk, and I thank you so much for the student dormitory for giving me a warm and safe stay, blessing me, and thrilled to have the opportunity to serve in the Kingdom of God.
Cheav Sopheavy, come from Banteay Meanchey province. She has 4 members in her family. Her parents are teachers. Now she studying mathematics at the Royal University of Phnom Penh in year one. Before she stays at the dormitory, she was a believer. But she used to go to church when she was young with her grandparents. She know about the dormitory through her friend’s brother because he used to stay there.
Sopheavy said” I have been staying at a dormitory for three months. I have learned many things from the dorm. After living at the dorm for three months, I know how to share things with others. Moreover, I am very hard working than before. Because I never did something by myself unless my mother told me. But now, I know how to do things on my own. I also have more confidence and feel that I am braver and can solve the problem by myself. I have improved a lot just by staying at the dorm. One more thing is that I know many things about Jesus that I have never known before. In the church, I serve on a SC team. I volunteer to do this. Because I want to help my church as my home. I want to say thank you so much for creating a student dorm where I can learn many things and blessing me to stay and helping me improve a lot as a student and Christian.
Chhun Choeng, he come from Sery Sophoan city at Banteay Meanchey province. His family doesn’t have a decent living. His father works as a construction worker and his mother sells a little at home. He has 5 and he is the older brother. He finish high school in 2018 and moved to Phnom Penh in purpose to purse university. He known student dormitory by his friend who is living in student dormitory and he hasn’t been know Jesus yet before he lives in the dorm.
Choeng said” I have been here for 3 years 8 months. I learned how to live in a state of integrity, respect for others, value for others, help others a lot, be responsible for the role, have a lot of leadership and have confidence in one member. New Life Fellowship Toul Sangke. I did volunteered work in the church for Sunday worship. I am very thankful for the arrival of the project for this student, which provided a cozy accommodation as a good family to students from as far away as I live in this one. And I wish that this student dorm has students who do not know the house of God know this home and believe in God more through accommodation.
Heng Kimsur, her family has 5 members and she have 3 sisters who are all Christians. Her parents are farmer. Now she studying at the Royal University of Law and Economics. which is her childhood dream. she didn’t believe Jesus yet before, when she come to dormitory at Tuol Sangke. She know student dormitory through her sister that staying here.
Kimsur Said” I have been in dormitory at Tuol Sangke for 3 years. I served in the New Life Church, Tuol Sangke. I volunteered to serve in the Church Service, coordinating the worship service. I would like to express my deep gratitude to the New Life Church, I am thanks you so much for student dormitory for providing me with a warm and safe stay, both physically and spiritually. More than that, I made changes that my parents could not have imagined, seeing me as a new person and being saved by God.
