Many Hospitals until One Word Brings the Right One
My name is Yoeng Thong. I’m 80 years old and I have a few health problems like Hypertension, Dehydration, Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), Heart Disease, and Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH). These diseases can affect my life at any time. Before, I went to hospital after hospital to get good treatment in order to save my life but, I couldn’t find one. One day, my son told me about a hospital and wanted to bring me there and that hospital is named Mercy Medical Center (MMC). So, my children decided to bring me there and I stayed there for around a week because I was in serious condition at that time. Yet, from day-to-day, I got healthier. I could see all the doctors, nurses, and team took care of me very well, encouraged me, and brought hope to me. Staying there around a week I was getting much better; Praise God! I’m doing well now, I just need to follow up with my doctors at MMC one time per month to keep me healthy.
I would like to say thank you so much for the Patient Care Ministry and Healing Home that always takes care of me and led me to know Mercy Medical Center. Thank you, to the staff in Patient Care Ministry that looked after me well in the Healing Home in terms of food and accommodation. Thank you!
Never Misses a Sunday Service Despite Persecution
Jim Joun is a 10-year-old boy who is in grade 4 in public school. He lives with his parents and two siblings in Opheasang village, Takeo province. His mother is a factory worker and his father is a scavenger. After hearing about the New Transformed Lives program at New Life Fellowship Opheasang, Joun and his two siblings have come to study in the complementary program every day.
He has been through challenges with his belief in Jesus, as his parents have told him not to join the church service besides the New Transformed Lives program, but he and his siblings never miss a Sunday service. Joun believes Jesus is a good God. He loves the Bible class the most and volunteers to memorize the Bible verses every Sunday service. His prayer requests are provision and protection for his family, wisdom for his studies, and freedom to come to church without any burden from his parents.
Dam Yeup is 60 years old and now lives with her mother and two siblings. They are very old and have no other family. Ms. Dam Yeup received a Saving Life Food Assistance package from the Community Development project in 2021 for her family. During her visit with us, the pastor also preached the gospel, and she was open to accepting Christ at that time.
Elderly people in Cambodia aren’t as open to the Gospel, but through the pastor distributing the food packages and preaching the Gospel, God worked wonders in their lives. Now, she and her family are continuing to go to church and the small group so they can grow tremendously in their Christian life!
